Yesterday morning, I looked at the monster and thought, nope...not ready for that yet.
So, I got out some pieces of unstretched canvas that Brandon gave me and decided to play with something smaller than I, instead of wrestling with a canvas which is much bigger than I am!
I'd say I'm out of my slump.
I'd even say I'm feeling renewed and reinvigorated.
Mostly, I'd say I had a lot of fun!
Here's what I painted yesterday.
5 x 7
5 x 7
8 x 10
This morning, I painted this little 5 x 7.
I totally love that little painting...which took me all of 10 minutes to paint.
Should I admit that?
I am beyond grateful for the joy of painting!

i'd say you came out of that slump! sometimes i have to take a break from big projects, too and do something a little different (or a lot different lol). i'm currently taking a break from my sister's quilt, just couldn't seem to get the 'right' look with the appliqued flowers. it'll go better when i'm looking at it with a fresh perspective. LOVE the clouds in that third painting!
I can only imagine spending 10 minutes painting any sort of a picture and have it look like anything recognizable to anyone. lol In fact, 10 hours or 10 days would probably not be long enough either. And that's ok, because painting is not my gift to the world....it's yours and others like you for others like me to enjoy. :)
"Quilts" (wink~Dawn) the name of my recent poem I am trying to get Ted to help me illustrate when he has time.....(busy with work these days).
Your recent smaller paintings are beautiful little pieces of you, Sharon! Love em!
Dawn, I wish you'd post pics of your quilts on fb! I'd love to see them.
I like the way those clouds turned out, too....just downright happy looking, aren't they?
Oh goody, Debbie! Another poem from you on the way...one of your gifts to the world!
Little pieces of me...I like that. ;)
