It's hot.
Standing to paint seems to requre entirely too much physical exertion...especially as I stand directly beneath a heat-producing light to do so. Ugh.
Sitting to paint is the solution. I don't ordinarily like to do that because it seems to restrict my imagination along with my ability to move back and forth....as I do when my brush and I dance.
Nevertheless, I must paint, so I've been working on some small things.
I mean really small.
Recently, as I was searching my favorite thrift store for good frames, I found a tiny red one. It is only two inches square!
I used to do landscapes on two inch ceramic tiles, so I figured I could handle surely handle this tiny format.
I used to have better eyes than I have now.
I didn't used to have to use reading glasses to magnify my work.
Ha!
Here's what my brush and my glasses helped me concoct for this cute little frame.
I did two more paintings, somewhat on the small side. These are 5" by 7". They seemed downright big after the teeny-tiny one!
"DAYS GONE BY"
"FOR FEATHERED FRIENDS"
Maybe sitting to paint will be my modus operandi until it cools off a little.
That'll be next October.
Maybe.
If we're lucky.
Meanwhile, we've started praying for a good monsoon season this year.
Bring on the rain!!!!!!!!!!
I am grateful for small things.
