SO YOU THINK THERE'S NO WATER IN ARIZONA!

HA!

There is.  A little,  here and there.  And I guarantee you when you come upon some water in this desert landscape it is a sight to behold!

We, grandson, hubby and me, had trekked through a lot of Northern Arizona and were on our way back to Tucson.  We chose a route which would take us here.

This is Lake Roosevelt....a good spot for a picnic, don't you think?

It is a little odd to find this large body of water in the middle of this landscape.

But when you see the depth of the canyons, you can understand how a pretty big lake can be formed.  We drove over seven such bridges during this stretch of the road.

Yes, there's water in Arizona.

We have dinosaurs, too.

And now you know.

I am most grateful for water.

And for interesting road side attractions.

It came to me today while reading and drooling over the beautiful State of Arizona.. that you have done a lot with your grandson.. I think that is wonderful!! All by itself!!
And it made me feel grateful that you are a woman to behold.. and I have you as a friend.
Much gratitude from me..

but the dinosaurs aren't by the water - how weird is that? Lake Roosevelt would be perfect for my hubby's remote control boats. and here i almost had him talked out of carting them along when we headed your direction.

seriously, that is a beautiful lake! i have been thru AZ several times and lived there thrice and did not know it was there.

Hi Sharon!
I totally did not know that there were dinosaurs in Arizona! That came as a complete surprise. My Mom used to visit friends there but she didn't see the dinosaurs.~giggle~
Beautiful bluewater lake in the midst of all those desert colors and mountains...so pretty.
Hi Donna, Gini & Dawn, too.
Gotta go watch American Idol. :)
Love,
Debbie

Hi Gini, Dawn and Debbie...I'm taking the lazy way out and responding to all three of you.
Gini....all the pictures you've seen of our travels with the grandson were taken during one whirlwind 4 day trip last summer.
Dawn..that lake is about a 3 hr drive from Tucson..so maybe not on the remote control boats. ; And dang it! When are you coming?
Debbie..glad you peeked in before American Idol. ;)

i wish i could say i was coming soon, but we gotta pay down our credit card a little before we can go. and my MIL is having her knee replaced mid-March so we'll have to hang around while she recuperates. maybe around June-ish? i hope so anyway.

Dawn...JUNE? Oh well...it'll be a 'dry heat.' Probably only about 105, or so. ;)
